MASSA MAKES A PODIUM FINISH

Ferrari's driver Felipe Massa finished first in the Bahrain GP thus making his successful third podium finish.Rookie driver(not to be called so now) Lewis Hamilton came second and Kimi came third giving Ferrari 1-3 finish.

The Brazilian led throughout but was pressured early and late in the race by Hamilton, the first man to take podiums in his first three Grands Prix.Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen was third after challenging Hamilton mid-race.BMW Sauber's Nick Heidfeld was fourth, holding off a challenge from the struggling McLaren of Fernando Alonso.

Massa needed a good result in Bahrain after disappointment in the first two races and there was no repeat of his poor start from pole in Malaysia last Sunday.

By the time of Hamilton's first stop for fuel and tyres on lap 19, the Ferrari was still only around a second ahead, but the pit-stop strategies changed everything.

Under new rules that force drivers to use two different types of tyres during a race, both men changed to the softer rubber at their first stops.

But Hamilton found his McLaren lacking grip on the new tyres and Massa began to pull away.

The Finn had spent the first stint stuck behind Alonso, but after passing the Spaniard during the first pit stops he set about trying to make good the damage.

There were seven retirements in the whole race. Jenson Button dashed Scott Speed in the first retirement itself.Later retirements were Mark Webber,Sato,David Coulthard and Liuzzi.

The result leaves Alonso, Raikkonen and Hamilton in a three-way tie on points at the top of the world standings, with Massa five behind.

ALONSO BOUNCES BACK.HAMILTON PROVES HIMSELF AGAIN!!

A poor start by Ferraris and an awesome finish by the Mclaren duo clinching the 1-2 podium finish.

Felipe Massa might have blown his chances to win when he went wide on the fifth lap while pursuing Lewis Hamilton. Lewis Hamilton drove pretty good and is look set to prove that Australia was not a fluke. He kept his position static till the end.

Lewis was driving much better than Massa and outraced him. The experienced Massa was showing nerves while the rookie Lewis Hamilton looked very cool. Lewis Hamilton also clocked the fastest lap of the race.

Nick Heidfeld in his BMW Sauber scored fourth place ahead of Felipe Massa. Nico Rosberg was unlucky with his Williams retiring on lap 44 with smoke pouring from his Engine, giving some flames at the pit stop he was in 8th place when this happened. Williams surely have to sort their reliability issues.

Surely F1 drivers have some ego running along with their engines.Kimi and Massa already showed some fumed faces after the race.Lets see how they react and scorch the track in the next race. The Bahrain Grand Prix is on the 15th of April !

2007 SEASON HAS STARTED.

The start of the Formula 1 season was simply spectacular. The qualifying race gave and unexpected result.Team Ferrari got at the start of the racing grid.It was an ideal day for the season start. All the eyes were on "The 2 time world champion" Fernando Alonso as he was second on the starting grid.Just the car color had changed with the change in team from Renault to Mclaren. BMW's Nick Heidfeld started in third, and fourth-placed rookie driver Lewis Hamilton enjoyed the best grid position by a British driver on his Grand Prix debut since the 1950s.As the race proceeded Felipe Massa advanced to 16th position.Raikkonen was on the third position as the Alonso was the race leader for some time followed by rookie Lewis Hamilton. With a great pit stop strategy Raikkonen forwarded as the race leader and with an astonishing +7 second lead he crossed the line followed by Mclaren driver Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton shared the podium at the third position.

FIRST CASUALTY OF THE SEASON

Spyker's Christian Albers slides sideways into the tyre wall on Turn 3 but walks away from his damaged car without any ill effect. He was in 20th place at the time. Raikkonen's lead over Heidfeld just gets bigger - up to 9.1 seconds now.

Battling for 13th place, David Coulthard tries to get past Wurz on the inside and ends up flying over the top of the Williams and lands in the gravel. One of his wheels is left hanging off but the Scot walks away uninjured, from what could have been a dangerous incident.
